7 Ways To Boost Your Adsense CTR

CTR (Click Through Ratio) is the number of or percentage of people that view a page with ads that end up clicking on the ad.

If your site is focused on generating revenue from Adsense then the fastest way to make more money is by getting your CTR up.

Now, there’s a lot of sites like my blog where adsense is not the main revenue generator.  So I don’t implement many or any of the following on my blog, however on other sites that are Adsense specific revenue generators I do this with great success.

Here’s 7 ways to increase your Adsense CTR

Place images next to ads

The images can be above or on the sides. It doesn’t really matter, make sure you are within adsense’s guidelines which at the moment state you need a separator or border between the image and ads.

Set your contents Text/Font the same as the google ads.

Ok so how do you know what font/size etc the adsense ads are?  Well first, put the size ad you want on your website and then right click the ad itself and view source. Search for “Font.” Most ad units are Arial, Helvetica, Sans-serif px size 11 (which I believe is a size 4 font).

Ads are integrated into the content to appear as part of the content.
This is the actual location of the ads on your page. Since studies show that surfers look at the top left first and work their way down, you should please the ad units in the content in the upper left corner.

Ad Unit Size to use

Place 338×280 large box whenever possible. They are proven to pull the best CTR.

Match the ad background to your Site

and set the border the same color also so there is no border

Use Blue links

Unless your site doesn’t use blue links, use blue links for the ad. However if your site linking color is different use that color.

Set the Display URL to a color that makes it almost blend with the background.
Setting the display URL as light grey (if your site has a white background) has been proven to increase clickthrough.

So get going, if you want to make more money with no more work then that basic changes above I guarantee your CTR with at least DOUBLE what it is now if you make all the changes.
